“The God of The Impossible”
Gordon V. Jardy

Isaiah 43:1-3a; 10-13, Luke 1:26-45

Isaiah 43:1-3a; 10-13

But now, this is what the Lord says — he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; “You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me no god was formed, nor will there be one after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and apart from me there is no savior. I have revealed and saved and proclaimed — I, and not some foreign god among you. You are my witnesses,” declares the Lord, “that I am God. Yes, and from ancient days I am he. No one can deliver out of my hand. When I act, who can reverse it?”

Luke 1:26-45

In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to Nazareth, a town in Galilee, to a virgin pledged to be married to a man named Joseph, a descendant of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.” Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered what kind of greeting this might be. But the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary; you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David, and he will reign over Jacob’s descendants forever; his kingdom will never end.” “How will this be,” Mary asked the angel, “since I am a virgin?” The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. At that time Mary got ready and hurried to a town in the hill country of Judea, where she entered Zechariah’s home and greeted Elizabeth. When Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, the baby leaped in her womb, and Elizabeth was filled with the Holy Spirit. In a loud voice she exclaimed: “Blessed are you among women and blessed is the child you will bear! But why am I so favored, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? As soon as the sound of your greeting reached my ears, the baby in my womb leaped for joy. Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

MIRACULOUS MISSION
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
June 10-14, 2019
9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.

We are truly excited to invite your children  and their friends from Pre-K (age 4) through the 6th Grade, to attend this year’s amazing Vacation Bible School, Miraculous Mission.  We will be transforming our church into the wonder of God’s Creation: skies, planets, stars, sun, moon and more.  Also, everything needed to observe God’s amazing World.

As part of Miraculous Mission VBS, we share God’s blessings with other children through the Heifer Project.  Heifer helps people around the world to nourish and feed their families with animals purchased by our gifts.  Each day a small donation will be collected to purchase the animals.

We look forward to seeing everyone again this year.  Please join us for an amazing adventure.

Mark your calendars now so that you will not miss this year’s Vacation Bible School.

Jonathan White Concert June 10, 2018 6pm

Starkdale Presbyterian Church will host Christian musician, Jonathan White, on June 10th at 6 pm.

Jonathan is the son of a pastor evangelist. He began singing along with his siblings and parents in worship as a small child.

Those first several years were important in developing his heart for ministry. The seeds were planted, though Jonathan never pursued any kind of professional career in music until later in life.
His main goal in his music ministry today is to encourage Christians in their walk with God, and to let them know that sometimes things happen that may seem horrible, but God can turn it around for good. Some of the things we think are burdens, may turn out to be the greatest blessing we ever receive.

Jonathan has had the opportunity to sing for many different kinds of audiences. From the Grand Ole Opry, to the Bill Gaither Homecoming Concert Series, to the little church down the street. Jonathan is willing to sing for God just about anywhere to any size crowd. He has learned, it’s not about the size of a crowd, it’s about ministering to each individual that has come to the concert. He gives the same emotion and heart regardless of who or how many are there.

It’s all about reaching others for Christ. It continues to amaze him that God would use him in this capacity to further His kingdom.

Please join us at 6 P.M on June 10th at the Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Boulevard, Steubenville. Refreshments will be served.
