Message from Rev. Danielson – February 2016

Welcome to the month of February! Congratulations, date-wise as I write, we are halfway through the Winter without a major snow storm! But yes, I know, it’s not over until it’s over.

Let me take this opportunity to commend you as a congregation for your commitment to the Lord here at Starkdale during this important time of transition from one pastor to another. It is not easy or comfortable to go from the known to the unknown. Yet, I praise you for the wonderful spirit in which you are working together. Attendance is excellent. Patience and trust in your leaders is admirable. Keep them in your prayers!

May I also commend you for your commitment to the Word of God. You clearly evidence a genuine desire to know and understand the Bible. Nothing pleases this pastor more or makes his ministry a joy than to see your hunger for the Scriptures.

Yes, there is need for structure and programs, for out-reach and care ministries. But in it all, keep falling in love with Jesus.  Keep your faith growing and He will bless beyond all you can ask or think.

Rev. Paul Danielson

Youth News – December 2015

sym_logoDear Starkdale Youth, Parents & Friends,

It has been a wonderful youth ministry year and I truly have been blessed to work with all of you at Starkdale.  We just had two youth get baptized and two others make profession of faith so we have had four youth join the church in the last two weeks. We have had a number of youth join our group for the first time this fall and have had our largest turnouts for our youth meetings ever (25+) since I have been here which is a great sign for the future of the youth in our community and here at Starkdale.  We had around 500 attend the Valley’s Got Talent Competition and have three new youth group members that come regularly as a result of it (Glory Dami and Paul and Jacqueline Shea).  The Allegheny Angels also sang at the Light Up Night at the Fort which over the four hour period of time had 3000 people there.  The Sonshine Bible Club has had 130 children involved in it as well.  We have some exciting events upcoming in the next few months highlighted by a rap star named “Jericho” who opened for Lacrae coming in for a “Hip Hop & Hope” night at the Fort Steuben Mall on January 18th at 4:30 and much more!  Please see the Winter Schedule for more details.  Have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Blessings!
Pastor Bobbyjon

Youth News – November 2015

IMG_8470We had 126 children at the Sonshine Bible Club on October 12th! We really could use some volunteers to help. Please pray about it and know that even if you can give just an hour or a half hour that would be helpful. The Sonshine Club meets from 2:30 – 4 P.M. at First Westminster Presbyterian Church on 4th Street every Monday that school is in session. It is a wonderful opportunity to touch the hearts of the children of this city!

Blessings,
Pastor Bobbyjon Bauman

Welcome Rev. & Mrs. Paul Danielson

We are delighted to welcome to our pulpit the Rev. Paul Danielson who will bring God’s message to us during the month of September.  Rev. Danielson and his wife, Heather, “have been together in marriage and ministry.” They have six grown children whom they love dearly. The Danielsons have worked with congregations from Maine to Florida, from Long Island to Chicago and from Pittsburgh to the Upper Ohio Valley. They ministered for a number of years as missionaries on the remote island of Palawan in the Philippines. Both of their parents were in the Lord’s work before them.  Paul and Heather have lived a life of faith in the finished work of Christ on the cross. The Word of God is precious to them; the fellowship of saints is sweet and the opportunity to share the gospel with those who are seeking is choice. Psalm ll9:63 has been a guiding Scripture throughout their years of service: “I am a companion of all those who fear you, and of those who keep your precepts.”
